Auditing is only offered to full-time students at the University of Denver. Non-DU students, special status students, and part-time enrolled students are not eligible to audit language courses offered through our department.

Auditing is not permitted for language courses numbered 1001, 1002, 1003 or 1005.

If you are a full-time student and interested in auditing an eligible course, please contact the professor of the course you are interested in auditing. They have the sole authority to decide whether or not you may audit their class. Please be aware that many professors to do not permit auditing under any circumstances.

Courses that are audited do not generate any grades or credits. However, you still must enroll with "audit" status via an add/drop form.

Enrolled students may alternatively want to consider taking courses for “No Credit” as opposed to auditing. Courses taken for no credit will not award DU credit, but do appear on your transcript. For more information see the article “Enrolling in language courses for no credit”.
