Credits transferred from other universities may in some cases be allowed to satisfy FOLA. Generally, most in-person (non-online) language courses taught at an accredited, domestic, four-year degree-granting institution can be transferred to DU. If your transfer courses consist of the full first-year sequence of language instruction and/or at least one course at or above the second-year level, the registrar may designate your language requirement as fulfilled. Your transfer credits must always be reviewed by the office of the registrar, and often require departmental approval as well. Please reach out first to registrar@du.edu to begin the process of evaluating your transfer credits. Be aware that this can be a long and complex process depending on the institution from which your credits are transferred.
