The Anna Maglione-Sie Scholarships – awarded to two undergraduate students majoring in Italian. The scholarships, which are based on academic merit and financial need, are worth up to half-tuition depending on students' other sources of merit and need-based aid.
The criteria for both undergraduate scholarships will be based on the following:
- Students must be a declared Italian major or major in Languages, Literatures and Cultures with a concentration in Italian
- Students must be in at least their second year of Italian studies when they apply;
- Priority will be given to a junior for their senior year and in exceptional circumstances to an extraordinary sophomore during his or her junior year, with the possibility of renewal;
- Students must be registered for a full course load of classes (12 – 18 hrs.);
- Students must maintain an overall gpa of 3.0 and a 3.5 gpa in Italian;
- Students may receive the scholarship while studying abroad in an approved program in Italy.
Typically, applications are due in mid-April. To apply, simply complete the annual departmental scholarship application when it becomes available through MyDU.
