RUSSIAN CLUB
The University of Denver's Russian Club seeks to unite students in the common interest of Russian language and culture. We aspire to involve students in Denver's Russian-speaking community, and to promote intercultural understanding between the Russian/Slavic community and DU students.
The Russian Club is for anyone who has an interest in Russian language or culture—you do not have to know the language to be a member.
If you want to make new friends, watch Russian films, listen to Russian music, read Russian poetry, eat Russian food and have a great time, then please come to a meeting.
DOBRO SLOVO
Dobro Slovo, the National Slavic Honor Society, is represented at the University of Denver by the Beta Zeta chapter, one of the original chapters of the Society. Dobro Slovo recognizes undergraduate achievement in the study of Russian language, literature and culture.
Throughout the year, events are coordinated with the Russian Club. These activities are engaging, inexpensive and fun.
The annual induction ceremony takes place in the spring. This event, which recognizes achievement in Slavic studies, also doubles as a year-end celebration after months of dedicated study.
Dobro Slovo is one of the oldest American honor societies dedicated to the study of a language and culture. Induction in the society is an honor and distinction that many students and faculty wear with pride. Applications are normally requested in early April.
